GENERAL
Ideal location to enioy all the activities that are available in the Gulf of St Tropez. Nearest airport is Toulon 50 mins away served by Citijet, Ryanair and Air France with local bus connection to within 10 mins of apartment. Nice Airport 75 mins away is served by national carriers such as British Airways as well as Easyjet, Monarch and Flybe. Local sandy beaches at Marines de Cogolin and Grimaud Sud within walking distance 700m-900m. Wide choice of waterfront restaurants, bars and shops in Port Cogolin, Grimaud and Marines de Cogolin. Tourist attractions with Port Grimaud and St Tropez close by offering unrivaled night life, vibrant street markets and excellent dining out. La Pouncho provides regular shuttles by boat between Port Cogolin and St Tropez so that you can dine overlooking the world famous yacht harbour or on Tuesday/Saturday visit the Provencal market on the Place des Lices. There are also cruises along the stunning coast of Gulf of Tropez. Bike hire available close by with cycle paths that allow you to explore the coast all the way from Port Cogolin to St Maxime and St Tropez. Sports for everyone's tastes from beach sports, deep sea diving, sailing, golf, riding, polo and hill walking. Step back into the hillside towns of Grimaud, Gassin and Cogolin and see spectacular views, buy local produce and enjoy French village life. Activities for children include visit to Azur Park theme park with rides and attractions, go karting, ten pin bowling, billiards, paint balling, crazy golf all close by. Pilates classes, group lessons and individual lessons available locally at Pro Pilates studio whose teacher Guillame Robin trained in Romana's Pilates in New York. Local festivals abound throughout the year with music festivals in July and August and the Chestnut harvest in October. Buy wine from local vineyards or take part in the grape harvest in September/October.

Tennis Courts
There are tennis courts opposite the apartment in Marines de Cogolin about 5 minutes walk away.
Bikes
Bikes are a great way to get around the local area and there are good cycle tracks. If you are more ambitious it only takes about twenty minutes to cycle to St Tropez and beat the traffic.
Bikes can be hired up on the main road near La Foux. The one across the road in the field nearer the fair ground, on the right as you head to St Tropez is probably the best one. You can leave bikes with a lock on them in the parking space garage in front of your car.

Fun Fair
There is a permanent fun fair on the other side of the La Foux crossroads with rides for all ages which is open quite late all of the season. There are quite often circuses in a field nearby.
Jet Skis
Jet skis can be hired on the beach in front of Port Grimaud near the La Prairie camp site and on Pampelonne Beach.
Boat Hire
Small boats can be hired in Port Grimaud to go around the port or to go out in the gulf. If you want to hire any larger motor boat you will need a licence.
Diving
Diving trips can be arranged on the beach in front of Port Grimaud near the La Prairie camp site and on Pampelonne Beach. You will need a letter from your doctor stating that you are fit enough to go diving.
Golf
There is a practice range across the road from Port Cogolin - go through the tunnel under the main road and keep going straight. There is a well established crazy golf course if you turn left just after the tunnel. You can see it from the main road just on the right as you head into La Foux. For the real thing there is a golf club called Golf Club de Beauvallon on the left half way to St. Maxime.
Bowling and Pool
On the road to St Maxime about 5 minutes drive away just after Port Grimaud on the left is a bowling alley which also has a bar and pool tables. Ideal if there is ever wet day.
Pilates

Go Karting
There is a very good go karting track about five minutes away on the road going up from Port Grimaud. It has sessions for older people as well as for younger children.
Quad Biking
Just as you turn right at La Foux on the way up to Cogolin is a quad biking circuit. We have never tried it but it seems to be open all of the season.
Bouncy Castle
And for the younger set there is a bouncy castle complex just across the road from Port Cogolin.
FACILITIES
Supermarkets
There is a Geant supermarket with various other shops including a chemists within eight minutes walk or three minutes drive of the apartment.
Ten minutes drive up the road to Cogolin is a Le Clerc supermarket which is equally well stocked and can be a bit quieter. Drive up the road to Cogolin turning right at La Foux and at the second main roundabout turn left and then take the first right and the second right and you will find it.
You can buy anything from food to beach equipment and the prices are for the most part cheaper than in the UK. Both supermarkets have petrol stations where you can generally buy the cheapest petrol in the area.

Banks and Post Office
There are cash machines at the Geant supermarket complex and two banks. There is a post box on the way in to the apartment to the left not long after you go through the barrier. The nearest post office is in Cogolin. You go straight up the road from the roundabout at Cogolin and the post office is on your right.
Restaurants
Eating out is one of the joys of visiting the South of France. Doctors and Hospital
There is a doctors surgery which works on a first come first serve basis in Port Grimaud in the main part near the beach. If you go across La Foux heading towards La Croix Valmer there is a hospital to the right at the first roundabout about 5 minutes drive away.
